Rachel Sosland, LCSW, PLLC
Child, adolescent and adult psychotherapist
After graduating Smith College, I earned an MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work. I then completed a three-year psychoanalytic program studying child and adolescent psychotherapy at The Post Graduate Center of Mental Health in NYC. Before venturing into full time private practice, I spent over twenty years at The Parkside School in Manhattan.
Over these years, I practiced play therapy with a range of neurodiverse children. My past work with an interdisciplinary team of speech and occupational therapists and teachers has provided me with a greater understanding of the often-complex developmental issues affecting children and the most effective methods for treating them.
I use my work with children and adolescents as a jumping off point in treating young adults. After all, our earliest experiences and relationships influence our present behavior and often explain how we approach the world. I believe deeply that we all have the capacity to grow, and my fundamental work supports young adults in building a life of healthy choices.
